During the series, Tigertron and Airazor were captured by the alien known as the Vok, and their bodies were lost. However, their sparks were kept online and during the 3rd season of Beast Wars, Tigertron and Airazor would come back to the fans' delight. With the help of the Vok to eliminate the dastardly double-agent, Tarantulas, Tigerhawk was created by combining the sparks of Tigertron and Airazor. Half snow tiger and half hawk, Tigerhawk is an ultra-sized Transformer ready to do battle and serve the Maximals one last time.

Tigertron may have been known as a pacifist while Airazor's firepower was not that high, but Tigerhawk comes fully loaded and ready to scrap any Predacons. The figure can launch two missiles from the tips of his wings which are activated by a spring-loaded switch on both wings, and has two more spring-loaded missile launchers under his wings, which double up as a handheld double-barrelled missile launchers.
